Theme

My name is Alicia Farmer, and I am a queer and disabled creator from the south coast, with a penchant for illustration and typography. For my project I decided to create a series of posters promoting the normalization of disabilities both visible and otherwise. I chose to use pop culture characters from franchises such as Marvel and Disney to do so, hoping to create disabled representation in characters that people love. I think media reflecting the variety of people that exist is so important, and that people should be able to see themselves and the ones they love reflected in the characters they love.
