This final project was conceived as a celebration of music visionary Sophie Xeon’s immense impact on the electronic and pop music scene, and the community of largely queer fans. Developed in Unity and running natively on an Oculus Quest 2 with hand tracking, this project’s development process has largely involved a collaborative and community-facing approach. A music mix has been meticulously designed with a friend for this project, and the end result will incorporate fan submissions and a homage section about Sophie. Each section of the mix is individually designed as a new visual landscape in Unity to match the music’s sonic characteristics and visual references.
