The focus of my time whilst on MA Illustration was to give myself an opportunity to create a more interesting, and unique visual voice. I didn’t feel satisfied with where I was prior to joining the course, and I used this year to challenge my potential and create things I never thought I would do.
‘Are You Sure You Know What to Think?’ is a zine based on personal experience with anxiety, it uses fragments of internal monologue and nonfigurative imagery. The non-linear narrative reflects the process of maintaining productivity while simultaneously doubting your decisions and ideas. I worked through drawing exercises based off of feelings, to help me generate visual ideas, as part of the theme of the challenges we might face as creatives. My aim through zines, is to communicate struggles that we come across, or feelings we don’t often share.
