My art is developed from happy memories of mine. It has developed to a place where it represents what I needed and should have been able to have as a child, but that was not available to me, like an ode to a childhood that I and all children deserve to have. I am slowly, over time, tapping into what would have been an important developmental part of my childhood. The process of basing the paintings on memories is not so much because that is what I want to portray to the viewer, but rather more of a healing process for me. This work has made me grow as a person. It is food for my soul.
