Ellis Roots

BA (Hons) Photography - Farnham

Ellis Roots’ most recent work is a personal response to an unassuming typewriter, owned by his family since the 1970s. This once reliable piece of technology (the device on which Roots learned to type and spell) finds itself defunct. Roots photographs the typewriter as if it were enjoying a well-earned retirement, encouraging viewers to share his fondness for this inanimate object, and his hopes for its future.
