Liminal Space

Liminal space is a fashion project that tells narratives of intergenerational migration through Aishwarya Rai and Bidya Rai. Bidya Rai migrated from Nepal in her early years to the UK.

The work revolves around the larger topics of identity, migration and decolonisation, which I am working on. Bringing layers and intersectionality inside the conversation of decolonization and the transnational-history of migration will be an active struggle and discussion in the immediate future. For any diasporic group, not just the literal inclusion of cultural-narratives but also a collective change in the style, aesthetics, and perception of what is beautiful and acceptable is essential. At the end of the day, Fashion should be a people’s project. This project was entirely shot on a Mamiya RZ67 and Portra 400 stock.
