BA (Hons) Illustration & Animation - Canterbury

I consider myself a digital artist since I utilise various types of software such as Procreate, Photoshop, and Illustrator when creating my pieces of work. However, I have not forgone the use of traditional mediums such as Lino, Riso, or print screening by overlaying them upon one another creating unique and interesting final outcomes that express the pros of both mediums. Over my time throughout the course of University I’ve been attracted to creating illustrative story – based pieces of work since there were many opportunities to express subjects like my personal experiences with a lot of free reigns. This is evident by the fact my previous project was exploring Cautionary tales which contain very thought-provoking moral messages, and currently for this project I decided to conceptualise ‘perseverance’ since it’s much wider subject matter. In conjunction, I have also investigated many ways on how I could communicate these narratives and I found that I had a knack for writing poetry and thus applied it when conveying the key narrative aspects to help guide the story along. With all these acquired skills I’m very much looking forward to what the future will bring and how it may further develop my skills as an artist.
