‘Narcos, by a Salty Colombian x’ is a project were I, as a Colombian, respond to the Netflix series ‘Narcos’. This response is emotional and critiques the stereotypes and myths the series perpetuates and constructs around my country and my culture. Here, I use repetition, editing, cyanotype printing, digital illustration, intervention, and poetry, to draw focus to the series’ aesthetics and language, commenting on the romanisation of violence and the idealisation of a Narco-Terrorist that occurs on the show’s narrative. This project can be seen as a photobook, an audiovisual piece, and as individual prints.
