A sculpture based on my recent experience of recovery from depression and a quote from Anaïs Nin “Life shrinks or expands in proportion with one’s courage.”

I wanted to bring this message:

‘The thing that gives you the power of living and makes your world broaden and brighter is not an extraordinarily special, expensive and rare thing that you cannot even offer. It is the things considered to be very ordinary and mundane that you pass every day. And the fact makes them the most special and precious things in your life.’

The sculpture is of myself getting out of the dark room with my most ordinary things that are the most special: family, friends, home, flowers, art, sky, books and memories.
