Zachariah Deakins

My final piece is a two-part zine composed of imagery I created over the past 10 weeks inspired by youth culture. I have explored this subject widely whilst also looking at specific aspects in much more depth. I have looked at the evolution of youth culture, subcultures as well as the issues youth face and the emotions that seem to be more unique to this age group of 14 to 20 year olds. I have also researched artists who have explored this concept before me, like Nan Goldin and Wolfgang Tillman, who have heavily inspired the direction of my project and its imagery. I have explored different cameras, like the Bronica ETRS as well as 35mm film on both disposable and the Canon EOS 300. I have also experimented digitally using the Canon  EOS 1300D
