My concept is based around abandoned spaces, specifically looking at 1 location that can only be accessed at low tide, abandoned Grain Fort. Going into this project I wanted to explore texture and graffiti tags. Grain fort has many different textures in and around the building from the tide coming in and going out, such as old brickwork, paint cracking and peeling off walls, barbed wire, sand texture, sea moss and a huge chains that wrap round the fort. Covered in graffiti, the purpose of the fort has changed from once being a tower to protect the River Medway during the war to an art canvas, reclaimed by graffiti. My collection is marketed towards young people looking for trendy winter wear.
