Why Now, What Next?
My Final Major Project is about my Final Major Project. It attempts to answer the question, “Why am I about to do another degree while in my 50s? And in Fine Art!”. To tell the story up until this point, I adopted Christopher Nolan’s timeline narrative used in his film, “Dunkirk”. The stories of an hour, a day and a week were merged into one film. The panels reflect my own history of art journey up to now – over the long, medium and short term. The long-term artistic influences over my life sit below representations of the creative techniques I have learnt over recent years post retirement. Laid on top is the very short-term experience of commuting to UCA twice a week. In total an enjoyable journey and all against the backdrop of images that I have created over the last year here at UCA. As a result, my Final Major Project is about my Final Major Project.
