Archie Ogus

Fascinated in my earlier years by street art, graffiti and its inclusive transformation of the very space that surrounds us in our everyday lives, I now channel these elements of interest into creating large (mainly) site specific installations that often encompass multiple dimensions of its environment. I incorporate acrylic paint, masking and duct tape in order to produce sharp geometrical murals which can lay across the surface of walls, floors and collages with the aim of reconfiguring an often-overlooked space, object or material. My concepts and styles have been greatly influenced by artists such as Sarah Morris, Jim Lambie, Daniel Buren, Ian Davenport and Sol Lewitt which I think is transparent when looking at the form of some of my work and is also why I am still admittedly in the early stages of developing my own unique style with my aim for the future being to keep experimenting until I feel that my artwork is an authentic personal reflection of my stylistic and conceptual interests.
