I am interested in Hyper-reality which describes the blurred line between what is real and what is not, recent designers have used this to generate fashion collections, for example MSCHF’s big red boots. Hyper-reality pushes the boundaries of conceptual fashion design and prioritises sensationalism over function.

With this as my starting point I invited a local Primary School to collaborate with me on my designs for my project ‘Lunacy’. I sent a video, templates and teachers’ instructions to year 1 and 3 pupils to create drawings. From the 240 pupils ‘designs’ I produced a collection of 5 ready to wear garments. I was particularly inspired by four of the pupils’ drawings, my thanks go to Olivia, Tommy, Leila and Archie, who provided me with wonderful designs.
