Sympatheia is a film about a teenage girl and her younger brother trapped in a house with an invisible monster that hates electric sound as a storm rolls in. They are forced into a race against time and the weather to figure out how to defeat the monster.

Sympatheia is about humanity. How we think, how we make decisions, how we behave, and most importantly: why.

“The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.” – H.P. Lovecraft

The world of Sympatheia is built on human’s inherent fear of the unknown and the anxiety that it provokes. The nature of our film’s reality explores how people are naturally afraid of anything that we fail to fully understand and is so unpredictable, the unsettledness of running but not knowing what from.
