I’m Abby, an artist and analogue animator passionate about tactile, handmade motion, bringing expressive stories to life through materials like charcoal, ink and any kind of paint I can get my hands on. I have an interest in telling stories that follows themes of social justice.
My film, Conversations About Home (At The Deportation Centre) is a hand-painted film that explores the human stories behind the global refugee crisis, using Warsan Shire’s poem. Blending poetic narration with intimate and textured visuals, this film challenges the portrayal of refugees as simple statistics, instead revealing the raw haunting truth of displacement and what it means to lose and search for home.
