Alice McGorry

Hello! My name is Alice and I’m a 24 year old illustrator from South London! I aim to create work that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, and I’m deeply inspired by my childhood nostalgia. My work is also influenced by my love for animals and nature, kitschy aesthetics, and Japanese styles. Funnily enough, I’m a big lover of horror films and true crime which is not something that is completely evident in the bright and sometimes silly work that I create. I mainly work digitally, but I also enjoy lino as the process is very therapeutic and rewarding. For my final major project, I had a more tactile approach to my work and focused on textiles and sewing which was a huge challenge for me and something that I feel has pushed my practice in a new and exciting direction. I feel most excited when creating something that engages my imagination, so art is an important part of my life.
