The outgrown project is a commentary towards the societal restrictions within women’s fashion, specifically focussing on reimagining my own childhood clothing onto the mature female form. Though many ‘childhood’ inspired collections exaggerate bright colours and pattern, I wanted my collection to be more realistic to the day to day wardrobe of my own childhood using a muted colour pallet and early 2000s materials to inclusively create an ensemble collection of garments that can be worn in any way, shape or form and allow any viewer to feel the nostalgia of their youth and think about what it truly means to be outgrown.
