‘Motley’ (2025) is a mixed media, sculptural installation made with miscellaneous recycled and found materials including bedsheets, cardboard boxes, old artworks, scrap fabrics, paint, garden wire and more. All of these objects are broken down and amalgamated to create an undulating mass which holds no permanent form.
Deconstruction often leads to the creation of something new. Through this process, I embrace the impermanent and imperfect nature of the matter I work with.
My work tends to exhibit the outcomes of intuitive and tactile processes, navigating around ideas of materiality whether that is the matter of our own bodies or the matter around us that we interact with on a day to day basis. Everything is ever changing and I believe the rejection, distortion and breaking down of forms often embody that experience.
