In this body of work, with bright, contrasting colours and subject material, I combine my fascination and enjoyment in traditional figurative oil painting with my interest in pop, abstract, conceptual and site-specific art.
Combining photos and abstract shapes first digitally, I transfer these compositions by hand onto the selected surface, enjoying the process to create layered, puzzle-like images. I want to distort any context of the original images; the paintings and their titles play with finding new narratives.
