My work explores fragmented self-portraiture, manipulating images of myself into sometimes unsettling experiences. I am interested in feminist values that focus on the beauty industry and the pressure on middle aged women in particular to capitulate to unachievable beauty standards. Some of my work involves reflective surfaces forcing the viewer to literally engage with the work. My aim is to make the encounter fun and playful with a pinch of shock but not enough to cause repulsion. My work deterritorializes itself, rebuilds and reinvents in a fragmentary process conveying an anti-objectification, anti-narcissistic message
