The Wasteland Watchtower

The Wasteland Watchtower is a post-apocalyptic environment depicting a surviving watchtower amid desert dunes. The structure combines improvised timber construction with remnants of the surviving infrastructure to create a unique looking base of operations for the survivor who lives here.

Solar Panels, generators, weathered timber, broken fencing, and scattered debris reinforce the towers improvised and live-in character, whilst Graffiti-covered barriers buried under the sandy dunes signify how this space is slowly being reclaimed by the desert.

This project was created to explore environmental storytelling, architectural design, and put into practice studies of lighting, materials, optimisation and composition to communicate a sense of isolation, abandonment, survival and a world left behind.
