Humanising The Immigrant Experience:
My project is a response to the dehumanising labels often attached to immigrants, reframing them as human being rather than “refugees” or “illegal”. The campaign Hiba aims to build empathy and connection between immigrants and the host society by sharing stories of resilience and hope, showcasing their move as a survival choice rather than a luxury.
Through multi-platform approaches including a community driven website, campaign and story led visuals I created a space for immigrants to be heard and host communities to listen, understand and join beyond media driven stereotypes. Through a community driven campaign this project moves away from political views and aims on building a stronger multicultural society.
