Hardi Anam is creating garments from textile waste with fabric manipulation techniques. When she was pursuing her undergraduation, she introduced herself with different types of construction techniques. Since then she is very passionate about techniques of manipulating fabric.
When she started studying MA Textile design at University For The Creative Arts. She come to know about sustainability and , she researched about textile waste, How it is hazards to our world? So she decided to do something about this situation. That’s how she got idea to combine her passion with textile waste. This is the point when she started designing garments with textile waste and fabric manipulation techniques.
As she wanted to work towards sustainability she choose nature as a inspiration. After that she started collecting scraps of textiles to give shape to her designs.
Here her garment represents elements of nature earth, water, and air which are affected by textile waste. In the garment she is using shades of landfill, water and air as a colour palette.
