I am a Fine Artist and Printmaker based in London.
I work predominantly with the mediums of Linocut and Serigraphy; with linocut being my preferred medium of choice, as due to the nature of the technique it allows both the greatest control over and the greatest versatility of textures, the usage of oil based inks results in rich colours and the additional layered nature of printing means that multiple different colours and textures can be overlaid in order to create a highly detailed and complex image.
Conceptually this medium makes the most sense as the replicability of printmaking mimics both the mitosis of cells, a repeated motif in my work, and the reproducibility of Scientific experiments, a theme which I often explore through my practice.
Through my art I seek to explore themes surrounding Science; its discoveries, methods and narratives, and how our understanding of different scientific theories shapes the way we view the world.
More concretely I put particular focus on exploring the concept of Scientific reproducibility, especially in its relation to the creation of ‘scientific consensus’, the ethics of Medical research and Plasma physics.
