Project Title : Cityscapes Of The Future
My Final Year Project focuses on the concept of Futurism and architecture. The design inspiration of my work incorporates elements of urban landscapes envisioned through a futuristic lens. As a personal homage, the intricate geometric patterns throughout the work are translated from traditional Malaysian wooden houses.
The project is presented as a series of suspended woven installations that move beyond the two-dimensional surface. Pleats are introduced as sculptural elements, adding volume and structure while emphasising the architectural quality of the forms.
Materials such as monofilament yarns and metal wires were selected for their ability to interact with light and transparency, reinforcing the project’s focus on the shifting perceptions and layered qualities of urban architecture.
