Pataphysics, a fictional metaphysics based on narratology.

The New Weird have always been a testing ground for avant-garde literature, what I wanted to do is to try to use audio-visual language to create this avant-garde narrative. Based on this, I gradually developed the embryonic form of the story.

In terms of form, I intend to use this short film to attempt a narrative based literary genre, namely pataphysics, through audio-visual language, making the “story” itself the object of narration and incorporating narrative elements into the narrative content.

When we lower our perspective to the narrative level, we will find that setting aside those virtual references, the story itself, as well as the intervention of the author and the audience, is the root cause of the disruption and alienation of the calm life of the meta fictional characters. We do not want this short film to break the superficiality of the fourth wall or the clich é of the meta fictional characters accusing themselves of nothingness, but rather, on the premise of recognizing and accepting their own meta fictional attributes, strip away the alienation and achieve their subjectivity.

This short film will present its inner meaning through restrained expression and audio-visual language, achieving an experiment of form as content.
