Lauren Sadler

I have always been deeply interested in religion and how it is interpreted differently by others. My piece focuses on the idea of self-harm in religion, particularly Christianity. I wanted to explore the ways in which religion can be used to justify or even encourage inflicting suffering on oneself. I created a narrative in my video that depicts one explanation for this mentality. Three of the props for the video were made by me, with higher quality photos of two of them being shown here. I hope to work in TV and/or Film production, so conceptualising, directing, producing, and editing a video has helped me get a sense of that field on a smaller scale.
