HELD IN THREAD
This body of work is the cumulation of practice led research deeply rooted in the exploration of memory – held, layered and embedded within cloth. Using found and organic fabrics dyed with plant based materials, the work reflects a commitment to a sustainable practice along with embracing visual imperfections in the cloth coupled with storytelling of the maker. These works become the keeper of familial memory.
Additional processes include quilting, screen printing, and stitch to map emotional landscapes – especially those connected to childhood and the notion of safe spaces, mirroring the nature of memory itself.
