My Graduation Film for Farnham Animation is called Synapse. It is an experimental, charcoal hand drawn film, combined with media exploration from liquids, oils, organic materials and microscopy. The film investigates naturally occurring fractals, through the narrative of synaptic transmission and neurodegeneration in the Central Nervous System.
After previously studying Fine Art, Biology and Psychology I found that my Art was consistently influenced by my studies. I was always intrigued by how medical artists had their own interpretations of unseen intercellular processes, in order to create medical art for education. I often utilised these educational 3D medical animations to help me study, when really, I wanted to make them for myself.
Synapse combines my passion for hand drawn art, experimentation and neuroscience.
