With these illustrations I focused on what I notice most when travelling, which is the texture and small details of a place. I based this concertina on a trip I took to Wales which was full of natural texture and winding roads that I tried to capture within my drawings. As you go along the concertina you’ll see the different stops along my journey such as mossy footpaths, mines and a town by the sea.
I also focused in on an area next to where I stayed. There was a small pond that I’d see every day that housed a newt and was covered in lily pads. I remember this fondly so decided to illustrate it.
