Somewhere Nowhere is a picture book about a girl who struggles to find her place after moving to a new home. When she accidentally gets separated from her dog, Mimi, Lili embarks on a quiet journey of searching for Mimi. Through this experience, she moves from disconnection to a gentle sense of reconnection, gradually discovering a feeling of belonging in her new surroundings.
The story was inspired by my own experience of moving between the city and the mountains during adolescence. In addition, this story also carries the memory of my dog, whose companionship helped me navigate feelings of loss and disconnection.
The story is a quiet reflection on adaptation, loss, and emotional change, encouraging readers to empathise with the uncertainty of transitions and the tender process of finding home.
