This showcase presents A Guide to Japan’s Music Industry for Global Creatives, a final-year project developed during my Music Business & Management degree at UCA. Despite Japan being the world’s second-largest music market, it remains underrepresented in global music business discourse. This project addresses that information gap by offering an in-depth yet accessible guide for international creatives, marketers, and professionals. Through data-driven analysis, industry interviews, and real-world case studies, the guide explores Japan’s unique fan culture, physical vs. digital market dynamics, and the rising global influence of anime, VTubers, and Vocaloid music. The project aims to serve as a bridge between Japan’s domestic industry and the international music business community.
