The collection of work represents the beauty of Uyghur culture but also aims to inform the audience about its gradual disappearance. The painting of a carpet mixes the Persian and Uyghur carpet styles to illustrate my family tree that has been disrupted by the fabric, showing how parts of history and culture are being erased and forgotten. The artifacts alongside the carpet convey the Uyghur culture and the importance of such possessions to people who lost their homes and culture by being forced to flee their homeland, like a lot of the Uyghurs.
