Gulu Jai’s World and Blind Box Set
This art piece introduces my original character, Gulu Jai — a playful and curious character from another planet. One of the Gulu Jais has landed on Earth and is now exploring the world with me.
The piece showcases Gulu Jai’s living space and features a specially designed blind box. I used 3D printing to create different parts of the house, which can be assembled in various ways. This allows the audience to customise the house and create their own version of Gulu Jai’s home. Some exclusive types of Gulu Jai are also shown with the house.
The blind box contains one of four types of Gulu Jai figures — including one exclusive version — along with a themed backdrop. The packaging design is different from traditional blind boxes: I designed only five sides of the box, with the bottom side forming the base of the backdrop. When you pull the box upward to open it, the backdrop is revealed clearly, followed by the Gulu Jai figure inside.
Just like the house, the backdrops can be combined and arranged freely. The more blind boxes you collect, the more ways you can build your own display. This playful and interactive experience reflects the fun-loving personality of Gulu Jai.
