In the movie “The Far Planet”,  life is seen on a fantastical planet located far out in space. The motivation behind the story and concept is my curiosity about what would happen if there were life on another planet. Most science fiction films only depict aliens visiting Earth and do not depict life on other planets. They depict Aliens with more complicated anatomy, advanced technology, and powerful abilities. Aliens always have a spooky appearance. However, I enjoy classic science fiction films like Predator (1987) and E.T. (1982) but they are too far removed from reality.

The entire point of my concept was to depict the lives of many species that are identifiable and similar to those of Earth’s species, but that are unexpected to have extra qualities and traits that they truly possess. The characters are designed by mismatching their looks and body parts from different species, giving them extra skills.

I’ve made a plot out of these characters that connects to one another as the movie goes on to make it more engaging for the younger audience. While the characters are being introduced on screen, the movie also contains a few unexpected moments.

The characters and setting of the movie are both made in a miss-match fashion, combining gradient colors and textures. The animation style is a semi-cutout 2D animation that combines cutout and classical animation.

Ultimately the movie gives you a great visual treat with lots of fun moments and surprises to smile and feel.
