CORE OVERLOAD: A Visual Dissection of Trend Fatigue
This campaign explores what happens when personal style collapses under the weight of endless micro-trends. Inspired by the rapid-fire “core” culture of TikTok and Instagram, it stages the chaos of aesthetic overload through both imagery and experience.
The photoshoots show models embodying different “cores” from Coquettecore to Blokecore layered, mixed, and sometimes falling apart, mirroring how Gen Z navigates identity through fashion that’s constantly shifting. The event extension STYLE SPIRAL, turned this into a live experience: a satirical rave where guests wore their “aesthetic labels,” played with trend-inspired props, and faced the absurdity of choosing “which core they were today.”
At its heart, the project asks: Is personal style still authentic when it’s shaped by algorithms, hashtags, and constant reinvention? The answer is left open, but the campaign reflects both the humour and exhaustion of dressing in the digital age.
