Attachment • Detachment
This project is very personal for me; it shows the most vulnerable side of human emotions. The concept of this project is about the emotions of letting go and holding on, whether it involves people, objects or yourself. Through visual storytelling, the project reflects on personal connections, memories, and the release process, capturing the fragile balance between intimacy and independence.
Can’t breathe without you: This photoshoot explores the intense emotional connection between two individuals who are deeply attached, so much so that they feel unable to breathe without one another. Despite being very different, they find comfort and identity in their bond, creating a world of their own, detached from reality. The project delves into themes of emotional dependency, attachment issues, and separation anxiety while also capturing the joy, vulnerability, and intimacy of their shared existence. It is a visual reflection on the beauty and complexity of love, co-dependence, and emotional entanglement.
Attached to ‘you’: This photoshoot explores the emotional attachment people have to everyday objects, focusing on the bed as a symbol of comfort, safety, and home. The concept imagines what it would be like to love your bed so much that you want to take it with you wherever you go. By turning the bed into a wearable, portable piece, the shoot visualises the idea of carrying a sense of home and comfort into the outside world. It reflects on how objects can hold deep emotional meaning and offer a sense of security in unfamiliar places.
Letting you go: This photoshoot explores the emotional journey of detaching from others, capturing the feelings of confusion, sadness, acceptance, and growth. Using fashion as a storytelling tool, the project highlights the raw and often unseen moments of letting go and moving on. It aims to show that fashion is more than just glamour; it’s a powerful form of self-expression. Through clothing and styling, the shoot visualises the quiet, vulnerable stages of healing and emotional transition, giving voice to inner experiences through visual language.
