Over the year I created a series of pieces taking inspiration from gothic architecture found within and around churches. My primary material was copper and I utilised a mixture of handmade crafting techniques such as piercing, raising, soldering, etching and riveting.
My final major project is a gothic sallet helmet crafted from copper. The piece explores the concept of protection, contrasting the physical defense of armor with spiritual safeguarding, represented through gothic religious architectural elements.
