This project centres on the “hidden children” affected by China’s One-Child Policy. Using the image of the abandoned baby, the immersive installation explores themes of silence, absence, and memory through sculptural language. The unlit candle-baby embodies fragility and the sense of a life that existed but was never fully “seen.” The uncut umbilical cord acts as a scar—both a trace of life and a mark of rupture. Nearby, a temperature-sensitive card gently reveals forgotten stories when touched, inviting emotional connection and reflection on those erased by history.
