My photographic work consistently revolves around social issues and psychological mechanisms, aiming to explore individual identity and psychological tensions in contemporary society through visual language. Although formally classified as fashion photography, I hope my work transcends the realm of fashion itself, resonating with audiences and provoking reflection, thereby becoming a dialogue between the psychological and the social.
The works in this exhibition are selected from two of my projects, which focus on ‘Imposter Syndrome’ and ‘Power Exploitation in Social Structures.’ The former uses imagery to explore the psychological state of lacking self-worth and constantly questioning oneself, while the latter uses metaphor and composition to reveal the complex power dynamics between people and to reflect on the boundaries of dependence, control, and sacrifice.
The photography was primarily shot in a studio setting, constructing symbolic spaces and bodily relationships within a controlled environment to maximise the conceptual tension. Through these works, I aim to prompt audiences to re-examine their perceptions of self, others, and societal mechanisms.
