Allison Coles

For my final major project I chose to respond to the work of Leonard Cohen.

The two pieces here are both paintings: acrylic, and mixed media on wooden panels. They include multiple layers with areas sanded back to expose colour and text beneath. Each incorporates in some way the lyrics from the relevant track. Tissue collage has been used for both mono printing and textural elements.
