This children’s picturebook is about a rookie carrier pigeon assigned to deliver an important message over London during WWII. By combining analogue texture and digital drawing, this technique brings out a unique visual result. The contrastive vibe of this book is created by the humorous story alongside the attractions of wartime London. The lovely characteristics of the main character and the visual expression of the story will surely make young readers smile.
It was seeing pigeons both in Farnham and London that seems to inspire me. It might sound strange, but I decided to investigate how this bird has helped people in human history. I was surprised to find out the different roles they play, so my pigeon became a carrier and the book was born.
