My work is about the spaces (physical and metaphorical) that we inhabit. I am interested in the way that these spaces can reflect our emotions back to us, in particular the process of grieving and our collective sense of loss. Within these domestic interiors and spaces, I play with defamiliarisation to create a sense of unease.
Children’s book illustration tropes such as blue sky, tufts of grass, are utilized to create a dichotomy, an absurdist view of the world.
There are personal markers for me, experiences that I am leaning into, which focus my exploration.
