Abbie Young

Hey! I’m Abbie and online I go by ‘BouncyBirdo’. I’m an Illustrator and sometimes an Animator about to get my degree and be released into real life. Scary. In March 2024 I went on my first ever solo trip to Reykjavik, Iceland. Whilst I was there I took photos and sketched wherever I could. Since the trip, I have continued to make art from the photos and objects I collected which turned into my final piece. 

My final book is a way to share the things that caught my eye in the amazing Icelandic landscapes and a way to say goodbye to the risograph. That machine costs a LOT of money to print with, so I have no clue when I’ll get to play with one again. Over this course, I have grown to love the Risograph and now my time at UCA is ending, I have to say bye to her. 

After uni, I am hoping to get into travel illustration because it is what I enjoy doing the most with my art. But until I get there I just want to have a break and live without impending deadlines, that’s good enough for me.
