I am an illustrator who enjoys using a mixture of traditional and digital mediums. My work is inspired from history, mythology, cultures and people. I am constantly drawn to this connection between all four, establishing patterns and similarities through varying regions across the world and subsequently exploring it through visual storytelling and imagery. My work often focuses on portraiture and concept illustration, focusing on individual and community identity through character designs. My style changes between realistic design and a more simplistic style, however regardless of which style Iām using, I aim to involve as much detail as I can in my work.
My final major project focuses on the story of the life of Katherine of Aragon, the first wife of Henry VIII. Throughout my life, I have only learned about the six wives through their tragic ends, immortalised through the rhyme of ādivorce, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survivedā. These women are so much more than that, and in this project, I created a publication of her biography, aided by illustrations, to explore and understand the side of Katherine not often discussed.
