Hello, my name is Angel and for the past year I have been working on my graduate film: Blind Date. It follows Layla, a lonely gorgon, who decides to explore outside her cave for the first time but is met with a stone-cold reception. The premise takes inspiration from my thoughts towards love and romance as an outsider looking in. I wanted to explore the feeling of peering into a romanticised world, feeling that you don’t fit in, and coming to terms with loving yourself as you are. Ultimately, however, I wanted to challenge myself to tell an endearing, emotional, character-driven story with zero dialogue.
