Hi, I’m Devanshi, a Visual Communication student at UCA with a passion for building brand worlds, campaign strategies, and cultural narratives.

My practice sits somewhere between graphic design, creative strategy, and storytelling. I’m fascinated by the way people engage with media and entertainment; not just what we consume, but how we consume it, who we consume it with, and the impact that has on our sense of connection. Because of this, much of my work explores culture, audience behaviour, and the role design can play in shaping experiences rather than simply communicating messages.

For my final major project, I created ‘The Ritual’ a publication and brand concept exploring the shift from collective cultural experiences to increasingly isolated forms of media consumption. The project began with research into the ways streaming platforms, social media, and personalised algorithms have transformed entertainment into something largely individual. While we have more access to culture than ever before, I became interested in what may have been lost along the way: shared experiences, discussion, anticipation, and community.

Using this insight, I developed The Ritual as both a publication and a conceptual lifestyle brand. Through editorial design, visual identity, photography, installation design, and campaign strategy, the project proposes a return to collective viewing experiences and shared cultural rituals. The publication itself takes readers through themes of isolation, disconnect, reflection, and ultimately reconnection, combining experimental typography, image-making, and narrative design to tell that story.

Alongside the publication, I created a fully integrated campaign called Join The Circle. Inspired by the role gathering has played throughout human history; from storytelling around fires to theatre performances and cinema-going; the campaign uses public installations, out-of-home advertising, social media activations, and community participation to encourage people to reconnect through shared cultural experiences. The project allowed me to combine strategic thinking with visual design and develop a concept from initial research through to a complete brand ecosystem.

Throughout my time at UCA, I’ve become increasingly interested in creative strategy, branding, media, entertainment, and audience engagement. I enjoy working on projects that begin with a cultural insight and evolve into a fully realised campaign or brand experience. Moving forward, I hope to continue building work that sits at the intersection of design, strategy, and culture, creating ideas that not only look engaging but also bring people together.
