I’m Eddie (professionally known as Edevagation), a mixed-media illustrator focusing on pen, oil pastels and printing techniques, whilst using a mix of traditional and digital techniques. I want to be the artist that I wanted to find when I was younger. My process begins with an exploration of colour, allowing me to translate my project briefs into a visual explanation I can understand. Through my practice, I aim to comfort, support and educate people – particularly on topics that are often ignored, forgotten or shunned away from, inviting audiences to start conversations, challenge their feelings and maybe even heal a little.
‘Surviving Psychosis’ explores both my own experience and the experience of others who are, or have in the past, struggled with psychosis. My goal is to introduce an understanding of psychosis and encourage a sense of not being alone through shared experience, by narrating my experience without the shame or censorship that is often used when addressing similar topics.
