The University for Performing Arts
Norhaven, Copenhagen
This project explores the relationship between performance, community and collaboration through the creation of a performing arts building that is open, adaptable and deeply connected to its surroundings. The design challenges the traditional idea of the theatre as an enclosed “black box” and instead proposes a more transparent and accessible “glass box” approach, where performance, learning and public life become visible and interconnected.
The project explores how architecture can encourage interaction between students, performers and visitors through a building that prioritises movement, openness and shared experiences. Circulation becomes an active part of the performance environment, creating moments of connection between public spaces, rehearsal areas and theatre spaces.
